Lots of companies install throttle bodies in racecars backwards. We at Guhl Motors have always questioned whether this did anything for the car, so we decided to test it.
We ran two tests on our dyno- one with the throttle bodies their normal, front-facing way, and one with them backwards. After a few hours of thoroughly tuning each combination, check out the graph below for the results! Open the image in a new tab for the best clarity.
In this test, there does not appear to be any benefit to turning the throttle bodies around. Let us know if there is anything else you would like to see tested!
I would be interested to see the 37h vs the 14j boots with a restrictor plate in place. Then maybe a red TSO with some rubber hose connected to it.
